Verance to Engage in Content Protection Panel and Demonstrate Cinavia to Post-Production Community at HPA Tech Retreat

February 11, 2011 — SAN DIEGO — Verance today announced its participation in the Hollywood Post Alliance Tech Retreat to be held February 14 - 18, 2011 at Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage. Leaders of the post production industry, engineers and technologists will come together to share ideas, see the latest technology innovations, and discuss issues that will shape the industry’s future. Dean Angelico, senior vice president, product development for Verance will engage in a panel discussion entitled “New Developments in Content Protection and the Battle Against Piracy.”

Verance will also conduct demonstrations of Cinavia embedding and verification tools to the post-production community, describe best practices in watermark embedding and quality control workflows for feature film and home video soundtrack mastering, and demonstrate Cinavia playback control on unauthorized theatrical and home video copies. Cinavia, developed by Verance, has been adopted by the motion picture industry as the standard for protection of filmed entertainment content and is an essential element of the content protection architecture for the Blu-ray Disc™ format.
